GUMMY SMILE TREATMENT
Some patients show an excessive amount of gum when they smile, often called a “gummy smile.” A common cause is altered passive eruption, where the gum tissue covers more of the tooth than it should. After a careful clinical and radiographic evaluation, treatment may involve a form of periodontal plastic surgery to gently reshape the gum line and reveal more of the natural tooth structure, creating a more balanced and harmonious smile. This type of procedure requires advanced training and experience in periodontal plastic surgery, an area in which I have developed particular expertise.
